October 2016 – Annual Conference Preview

October – Getting Ready for the Conference!

It’s hard to believe that the fall is truly upon us.  For OH-AHEAD, it means that it is time once again for our annual conference!

OH-AHEAD will be hosting our seventh annual conference on Friday, October 21 at Kent State University at Stark in North Canton, Ohio.  The OH-AHEAD conference has evolved into a comprehensive educational and networking opportunity. We are truly fortunate to have an opportunity to offer quality programming to our disability services professionals across the state.

Dr. Adam Meyer, Executive Director of Student Accessibility Services and Inclusive Education Services at University of Central Florida and Director at Large for AHEAD, will be our featured presenter.  Adam will kick off our day by assisting participants in identifying their office brand and how communication and language used by an office can assist in maximizing collaboration efforts on campus and beyond.

The day continues with a series of concurrent session blocks which will address topics such as:

collaborative campus partnerships; service animal policies; transition planning; exploring the social model of disability; closed captioning best practices; and more!  Looking for new equipment or software?  Make sure to spend some time with our featured vendors.  Join us for the business meeting at lunch and learn about the new annual awards presented to outstanding professionals in our field and discover more about the individuals who we have honored through this new initiative.
